Top Spots to Camp in Georgia

Cloudland Canyon State Park

About two and a half hours northwest of Atlanta and less than an hour away from Chattanooga, TN, this is one of the largest and most scenic parks in Georgia. The view is breathtaking with sandstone cliffs, dense woodlands and a ton of wildlife. Hike down to the canyon floor and marvel at two popular waterfalls, Hemlock Falls and Cherokee Falls.

This state park has 72 RV sites and full hookups for RVs up to 50 feet in length, making it a perfect getaway for RV owners in Georgia.

Okefenokee Swamp

About five hours south of the metro Atlanta, this spot is well worth the drive. Popular amongst paddlers and boaters, the Okefenokee has more than 120 miles of water trails to discover. Wildlife lovers may find alligators, turtles, black bears, ibis, herons and wood storks in the 400,000-acre area.

Savannah Favorites

Skidaway Island State Park is tucked away in the marshes of the Georgia coast, featuring Spanish moss, open-air picnic shelters and winding trails. Tybee Island’s beaches are less than an hour away if you and your traveling party would like to hit the beach.

Hardeeville RV Park is another great location for those who want to explore downtown Savannah, while River’s End Campground & RV Park is a coastal favorite, similar to Skidaway Island.

Jekyll Island

This campground offers serene beaches, charming small beach towns and historic landmarks for those in search of a peaceful getaway. Enjoy Driftwood Beach, choose between 25 miles of paved trails, go fishing at the pier, or spend some time with the birds at the onsite sanctuary.
