RV Services for Summer

Clean Your RV

If you’re only using your RV in the summer, there’s likely been built-up dust since last year. Clean your RV interior by dusting, mopping and checking for any leaks, cracks or damage. You can also wash and wax the exterior to do away with any potential grime that’s present.

Invest in Seasonal Maintenance

Regularly inspecting your RV engine, brakes, fluids, tires and other important parts is essential to extending your camper’s longevity. Only giving your vehicle attention when the summertime rolls around can delay your travels, as an issue may have been festering all year – routine maintenance throughout the year can decrease your chances of that happening.

Charge and Reinstall RV Batteries

Batteries provide power to run the water pump, lights and smaller appliances, and nobody wants to travel long distances without those. RV batteries tend to last about five to seven years, but it’s important to get a battery inspection every now and then, which our RV technicians can assist with.

Flush and Sanitize Your RV Water System

If you winterized your RV, you also need to de-winterize it. Flush out any antifreeze and inspect your water heater to make sure everything is working properly and doesn’t have any leaks.

Check RV Appliances and Safety Devices

If you haven’t used your RV in a while, air may have gotten stuck in the gas line of your RV. You can release this by turning on your propane tank and lighting the burners to make sure your stove is good to go. Turn off your stove and try lighting the fridge on gas, then test the furnace, water heater and generator if you have one.

Double check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace the batteries if needed. Also, ensure the needle on your fire extinguisher is in the green zone and is appropriately placed for easy access.

Restock Supplies

From severe weather to injuries or accidents, you need to be prepared for the worst. Restock emergency supplies including a first-aid kid, portable power bank, tire repair kit and emergency medicine. We also recommend having extra water and non-perishable food just in case.
